Cloud Cupcakes
Cloud Cupcakes tend to "fly" off the dessert table, so make sure you make enough. These cupcakes (we chose strawberry) are a perfect complement to the Up In The Clouds Cake with their own cloud fondant toppers that sit in a pillow of mint colored vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Using silver wrappers, a simple white square plate, and a paper cutout of clouds on a blue background, we reinforce the feeling of floating and soaring.

Tips
For The Cloud Cupcakes
We feel that you can never go wrong with having silver, brown, or white cupcake wrappers on hand. The best thing about silver wrappers is that silver can go with just about anything... especially pastel colors. The wrappers look great and don't take away from the icing or the extra accent that is placed on a cupcake
Fondant is easy to find these days. You can even get it at your local craft/cake decorating store. If you're not up for the task of covering a cake in fondant, then try these simple cloud toppers instead. Roll out a small piece of fondant, cut out a cloud using a cloud cutter or template, and let it dry. They are easy and painless, and also super cute. If your fondant is very sticky, add a small amount of cornstarch to your work surface. If your fondant is too dry, add a bit of vegetable shortening

Presentation
Ideas For The Cloud Cupcakes
We presented our cupcakes on a 10-inch white square plate from Crate & Barrel. Also check out another one of our favorites that we've used from Sur La Table - you can choose from many different sizes. We especially love to use these plates in our Experiences as the clean and simple lines tend to complement any dessert table
To add more color to the plates, find some colorful paper, or wrapping paper, and cut it to the size of the plate you use for your desserts. We chose a blue cloud paper to keep with our theme
A simple printable dessert label and cupcake topper can go a long way to completing the presentation. We offer free printable dessert labels and cupcake toppers, along with the rest of the Soar Experience Printables, that you can download here. We recommend using cover weight paper which you can find at Paper-Source. We usually use pure white, but feel free to choose a color that works for you
To add an extra touch of color to your cupcakes, sanding sugar is always a nice touch. Check out these pastel sanding sugars from Sur La Table
