10 Must Try Upgraded Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes
Chocolate chip cookies are one of those desserts that almost everyone seems to enjoy. Most of us are used to buying a bag/box at the store, or having fresh Toll House cookies being made right at home in the oven (thanks Mom!). And although the traditional chocolate chip cookie will definitely satisfy, there are those times that we want something similar, but something... more. And since we just shared our recipe for our Malted Mall Chocolate Chip Cookies yesterday, we thought it would be fun to scour the web for some upgraded recipes for those "normal" chocolate chip cookies we all know and love. So with no further ado, here's our mashup of 10 must try upgraded recipes for chocolate chip cookies that we found from around the web.
1) Jacques Torres Chocolate Chip Cookie

To start our chocolate chip cookie mashup, we just wanted to share our all-time personal favorite chocolate chip cookie. Jacques Torres, aka "Mr Chocolate", makes a mean chocolate chip cookie that is huge, chewy, crunchy, and memorable... all the things we look for in a cookie. We have made these many, many times, and highly recommend them in any situation where you're looking to make an amazing chocolate chip cookie. It does take a little planning since the dough should sit for at least 24 hours before you bake it... but it'll be worth every second.

2) Next-Level Chocolate Chip Cookies

Most of us love a good chocolate chip cookie with crispy edges and a soft middle, but then sometimes you want something a little special, or in this case, a little extra special. Shauna Sever does it again in these Next-Level Chocolate Chip Cookies. She actually browns the butter, freezes it, and then brings it back to a temp where the butter can be creamed in with the sugar. Holy moly... our mouths are watering just thinking about the nutty flavor of browned butter combined with a chocolate chip cookie. YUM!

These Chocolate Chip Confetti cookies by Bakerella make us want to throw a party. They're so colorful, and look delicious, we can't wait to get to the kitchen to whip up a batch. The pastel colored M&M's, combined with pastel colored confetti sprinkles mixed with the chocolate chips, would be a perfect cookie for any party or celebration. And with the optional finely chopped pecans, the added texture and nuttiness to an already delicious chocolaty treat, is something that we don't recommend anyone pass up.

If you haven't tried nutella yet, then you need to grab a spoon from your kitchen, get in your car, go to the grocery store, buy a jar, and then use that spoon you brought and dig into the most heavenly hazelnut chocolate spread ever (ok, you can leave the parking lot and head home now). Sorry for the dramatics, but this stuff is good, We're talking real good. In this Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe by Bridget of Bake At 350, the nutella is actually baked inside the chocolate chip cookie - pretty amazing huh?! Now that you have your new container of nutella from the store, give this recipe a try.

Another great celebration cookie are these Birthday Cake Chocolate Chip Cookies by Shelly from Cookies & Cups. The ingredients are interesting and intriguing: cake batter, birthday cake Oreos, and sprinkles. This can be a great alternative to those who don't like cake (we know, don't get upset, but there are some people that don't like cake). The sprinkles add all the color you need for a true celebration, and can be found in almost any color you would want.

6) Caramel Corn Chocolate Chip Cookies

In Chicago, there's a place named Garrett that makes the most delicious popcorn. They have a blend, aptly name "Chicago", with cheese and caramel popcorn in one. It is tasty! When we saw this recipe for Caramel Corn Chocolate Chip Cookies by Annie's Eats, we put Garrett on the top of our to-do list, so we could make these cookies pronto. How interesting right... popcorn and cookies. A little unusual, but if Annie says it's good then we'll take her word for it. Next time you have some leftover caramel corn from a fair (or a homemade batch), don't forget to try these cookies for yourself.

7) Chewy Chocolate Chip Snickers Cookies

We once told you that if we were stuck on an island and we could only bring and eat one candy bar... it would be Snickers. So, if Snickers is incorporated in any dessert, you know we're going to want to try it. Not only does Bakers Royale use her favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, but then adds Snickers - in our eyes that's double trouble (in a good way). So many cookies to make, so little time...

8) Cowboy Cookies

Now these aren't chocolate chip cookies, per se, but they do have chocolate chips in them... and so much more. Glory, from Glorious Treats, shares her recipe for Cowboy Cookies (we just love the name). These cookies have some hearty ingredients like rolled oats, chocolate chips, pecan, as well as coconut flakes, and is why we think Cowboy Cookies is the perfect name. Cowboys, after all, definitely need a hearty treat after working all day. Then again, so do you, so gather your ingredients and bake some today!
